From your suite you can walk to the colleges or visit the Farmers' Market from May through November. Taste Antonio's famous pizza by the slice, Judie's popovers, Fresh Side tea rolls or have Lynda suggest one of our downtown's fine restaurants. Attend the Amherst Cinema, showing independent and first-rate movies right in the center of Amherst, or take a bench on the Common and enjoy the ambiance of our vibrant college town.

At day's end a leisurely stroll will return you to Purple Gables' quiet knoll. Coming up to the porch, past the front garden the stage is set for you to let out a sigh and relax in the comfort of your suite. Purple Gables' guests love to linger in the back garden ablaze with Mother Nature's palette, as sculptures of playful Pan and the big-belly Buddha reign over the peaceful scene.
